Integrating pop up power units into existing outdoor spaces

Integrating pop up power units into existing outdoor spaces

In recent years there has been a clear shift towards refurbishment projects as opposed to new build developments. Advances in modern day lifestyles, work patterns and leisure activities have led to many buildings and built up areas becoming outdated and redundant. As a result, there is an increasing requirement to power such regenerated outdoor spaces.

Refurbishment projects include various town centre regeneration schemes; commercial and retail developments converted into more modern, customer-friendly environment; sports stadiums converted into multi-purpose sports, events and leisure areas; and leisure facilities being upgraded, particularly within the UK, where increasing numbers of holidays opt for ‘staycations’ rather than holidays abroad.

Pop Up Power Supplies® offer a range of Retractable Service Units which are ideal for outdoor and communal refurbishments projects covering a wide number of sectors. We work closely with Architects, Developers, Contractors, Specifiers and other industry professionals, helping with the specification process into such refurbishment projects.

The rise of refurbishment projects

As previously mentioned, advances in modern lifestyles has resulted in large numbers of outdated and redundant buildings and built up areas. Developers, Councils, and Clients are opting to redevelop these existing buildings and built up areas as opposed to building new developments.

VitrA launches Equal – a new bathroom collection created in collaboration with Italian architect and designer Claudio Bellini

VitrA launches Equal – a new bathroom collection created in collaboration with Italian architect and designer Claudio Bellini

VitrA has announced its latest collaboration with celebrated architect and designer, Claudio Bellini. Launching at ISH this year (11 – 15 March 2019), Equal explores the fusion between the organic shapes found in nature with the architectural lines present in an urban environment.

For Equal, Claudio Bellini has reimagined the modern bathroom through an architectural lens. The collection makes use of repeated geometric shapes which emphasise the differences between the products, such as the option to incorporate a suspended towel rail or LED lighting.

The minimalist approach to the design is complemented by the monochrome hues and metallic finishes that Bellini has selected.

The contemporary collection infuses the washroom with tranquillity through its use of pure shapes and seamless joints. Developed carefully in collaboration with VitrA’s in-house design team, Equal aims at maintaining the illusion of fluidity – using the smooth edges to mimic the natural cavities found in lakes, alongside more structured lines to ground the aesthetic. Exploring the synthesis between manmade structures and natural shapes creates the perfect harmony throughout the collection.

The collection establishes a consistent flow through the use of sleek metal rails and fine lines, connecting each piece to the next.
