Kee Systems has provided Hayle Railway Station in Cornwall with a combination of Weld Mesh Panels, Kee Access® and Kee Klamp® fittings to ensure safe pedestrian access as part of a £500,000 station refurbishment project.
Network Rail unveiled a joint scheme with First Great Western, Cornwall Council and Sustrans to improve access at Hayle Station in February 2014. The project saw 170 l/m of Kee Access®, 60m of Kee Klamp® fittings and 50mm x 50mm Weld Mesh Panels installed by contractor, Raymond Brown Construction to provide protected pedestrian routes and safeguarded new ramps at the entrance of the station and in the walkway to the railway platforms.
The Kee Access® and Kee Klamp® fittings have been powder coated in vibrant yellow to clearly mark the routes. Kee Systems fittings can be colour coated to any RAL colour in Polyester powder coated finishes, affording a variety of colour contrast options that are not cold to the touch. The fittings have created a smooth, continuous handrail that is fully compliant with DDA legislation and has enabled the provision of better, safer access for all travellers at Hayle Station.
